If you have always wanted to try a 5-string, but have been horrified at the price, take a look at these! These are violins with an added C-string. They will not sound as good as a viola, because of the size, and because there are five strings instead of four you will find that they are less bright than the corresponding 4-string version. Customer reaction has been very positive. Please understand these are not intended for beginners. The prices are for the instrument only, fitted with Dominant strings and five adjusters. The angle of bowing will of course be different from that on a 4-string. Unlike other cheap 5-strings these violins are made with a wider neck than the corresponding 4-string instrument so left-hand fingering should not be any problem provided you remember which string you are playing on!
