One of the major developments in bow making over the past few years has been an explosion in carbon bows, which should certainly now be confused with fibreglass bows!
When considering brands typically offered in the U.K. a significant gap will be found between cheap Chinese composite bows – some of which warp just as readily as woodden ones even though that is supposed to impossible – and the advanced student and professional bows produced by big names such as Coda and Arcus. With our introduction of Glasser bows into the U.K. that gap no longer exists.
Glasser bows are noticeably heavier than more expensive bows and are very popular indeed with young players. Higher models are extremely hard to match at or near the Glasser price level if the weight suits and we strongly recommend anyone looking at advanced bows to include to include one or two in the selection they are choosing from.
In ascending order we start with the X-series carbongraphite bow which we consider to be quite exceptional compared with bows directed at beginners. Then comes the advanced composite bow which is included as standard in our Gliga Gems outfits. This particular bow is chunky and fairly heavy making it easy to draw a good tone and we find it is the most popular one among young players. Then comes the carbongraphite bow (Liz’s favourite!) which several high level players have compared favourably to their own far more expensive bows. Above this, the braided carbonfibre bow, with its very attractive appearance, is lighter and therefore easier for off-the-string bowing.
Rehairing is done in the normal way and we can supply tip plugs and wedges, which seem to unique to Glasser, free of charge.

Designed with the help of a composite process engineer, these superlative bows represent the latest in bow technology! Unlike standard composite bow, which are hollow, these have a solid core to give them a supplementary even feel and balance. The carbon fibres used to make this bow are woven into a coninuous pattern. This creates a seamless bow that carries its fibre patterns down its entire length just as the grain of a wood bow is
carried down its entire length. A natural finish, rather than paint, is used to showcase the aesthetic beauty of this bow's interwoven design. The bows feature deluxe ebony Paulus frogs made in Germany. The frogs are nickel, silver and gold mounted and have the highest quality goldfish abalone pearl slide and large eye. Observe this bow carefully, and note the new finish, the finely shaped head, the German silver tip, the German ebony frog, the strength and the balance. These patent-pending carbon fibre bows
are the ideal choice for expert players! Pictures -
