Violin:
The pegs work! They’re not jammed! I used to see
violins in school music cupboards where you could see
the air through the gaps in the peg holes … It feels
much more like a violin than [popular brand of coloured
violin] Isn’t the bridge thin! Yes, it’s not bad at
all for a student violin. (teacher quote)
Violin:
I told the teacher I had bought it on the internet
and she asked “Are you mad?” but then she looked at
it and said "wow! It's really well made" She
was glad it was not a [popular budget brand] as apparently
some of those belonging to her students fall apart!
Her other comments included words of approval
for its nice looks and feel, and the quality of the
pegs. Considering the strings she found the sound very
positive. She considered the bow to be very good for
a beginner’s outfit, easily outclassing the basic [popular
student brand] by miles! No problems with the bridge
and overall virtually on a par with the [popular ebony
fitted student brand]. The only criticism was that the
strings sounded rather metallic but not more than Chinese
violins generally. In fact she considered the instrument
made well enough to justify upgrading the strings which
she would NEVER recommend with a [popular student brand]!
Violin:
Even this one is miles better than the [popular
student brand] (teacher quote)
Violin:
The school was so impressed that they want some
more please.
Violin
(bow): The basic level genuine Peking hazel-twig
bow you sent is actually fine, and millions of times
better than the bow for my other 1/8th size. (teacher
quote)
Cello:
Fast delivery and very well packed. Fantastic
instrument.
Cello:
I just wanted to let you know how thrilled I am
with the cello I bought through a ‘second chance auction
on ebay. It was much better on arrival than expected.
I have had it professionally set up and have just had
my first lesson. I am an adult learner who has been
learning to play the violin for the past year. I bought
the cello because I have been having problems with my
left hand and felt the hand position on a cello would
be easier. I didn’t want to splash out on an expensive
instrument in case I was physically unable to play and
I researched instruments so as to get a playable one!
My teacher has been very complimentary of the whole
cello outfit and says the cello ‘fits me wonderfully’,
it also plays beautifully. … at last I am fulfilling
a lifetimes desire to play a cello and in the bargain
my four young children are being spurred on to get involved
in music!
